These nine pieces were taken from my portfolio project completed at the end of my education at San Francisco State University College of Extended Learning. The focus of my education there was Photoshop and Print Design/Layout. To return to my condensed portfolio click here.

Illustration and Layout: Concert Poster
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator
Description: I illustrated the fiddle, banjo, and bridge from photos using the pen tool in Illustrator. Lastly, I added a close-up photo of an American Flag on an opaque layer to add a little more visual interest to the background.
Additional Info: Flag photo found online.
Retouch: Photo Restoration
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Epson Perfection 4870 Scanner
Description: This photograph is from my family's collection. It is one of the few historical evidences of property my family owned in Germany, lost after WWII. Photoshop restoration enabled me to preserve an archival piece that would have otherwise deteriorated.
Composite: Perfect Family Portrait
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop
Description: As many families have noticed, it is very hard to get a group shot where everyone has a good expression in the same exposure. This composite was made from four different exposures taken during the same shoot to form "the ultimate family photograph".
Additional Credits: Michelle Montalbano (original photo)
Retouch: Photo Clean-up
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Epson Perfection 4870 Scanner
Description: This image was scanned from a 35mm negative I shot. The original was covered in dust, had low contrast, a flat sky, and the building had physical damage that I cleaned up to make it look nicer.
Composite: Fear
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Nikon F 35mm Camera, Epson Perfection 4870 Scanner.
Description: This started as a photography project to portray the emotion fear. Originally I went for an experimental approach, distressing my negatives and making high contrast prints. Later, I brought the images into Photoshop and added texture and color to bring a new dimension to the project.
Trifold Brochure: Take-out Menu
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign
Description: This project was to make a menu for a take-out restaurant. The goal was to make it aesthetically pleasing, readable, and as inexpensive as possible for the client. The end product is a double-sided, trifold, single color, 8.5x11.
Compositing and Layout: CD Booklet
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
Description: Layout created in InDesign; artwork is comprised of composites made in Photoshop and vector art drawn in Illustrator.
Layout: Dine-in Menu
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
Description: This menu was designed for an eat-in experience. There is a lot more info, multiple languages, descriptions of each of the menu items, and some photographs.
Additional Info: The photos of the food were also from the restaurant's web site. Background texture and cover art were found through Google.
Layout: Newsletter
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator
Description: This newsletter was designed with the intent of being economically affordable for a small business, nonprofit, or anyone on a budget. It consists of two colors; a Pantone spot color, and black.
Additional Info: All of the images in this document were found in their current newsletter, but were recolored to fit in with the two color scheme.
